Module 1: Introduction to Canva

Objective: Familiarise participants with Canva’s interface, tools, and workspace navigation.

Content & Activities:

  • Account setup and workspace overview
  • Toolbars, menus, and design panels
  • Types of design projects in Canva
 

 

Module 2: Working with Templates

Objective: Learn to find, customise, and repurpose Canva templates for different needs.

Content & Activities:

  • Browsing and filtering templates by category
  • Replacing images, text, and colours
  • Saving custom templates for future use
 

 

Module 3: Brand Kit & Consistency

Objective: Set up a brand kit to maintain visual consistency across designs.

Content & Activities:

  • Uploading logos, setting brand colours and fonts
  • Applying brand kit settings to templates
  • Maintaining consistency across campaigns
 

 

Module 4: Typography & Layout Principles

Objective: Apply design principles for readability and visual impact.

Content & Activities:

  • Choosing font pairs and hierarchy
  • Alignment, spacing, and balance
  • Avoiding common typography mistakes
 

 

Module 5: Image Editing & Visual Elements

Objective: Enhance designs using Canva’s image and element tools.

Content & Activities:

  • Cropping, filters, and background remover
  • Adding shapes, icons, and illustrations
  • Layering and transparency effects

 

Module 6: Canva for Social Media

Objective: Create platform-optimised content and schedule posts directly from Canva.

Content & Activities:

  • Resizing designs for multiple platforms
  • Social media scheduling tools in Canva Pro
  • Best practices for carousel posts, reels covers, and stories
 

 

Module 7: Advanced Tools – Animation, Video & Presentations

Objective: Use Canva’s multimedia features to create engaging motion content.

Content & Activities:

  • Adding animations and transitions
  • Editing short videos in Canva
  • Designing and presenting slideshows
 

 

Module 8: Collaboration & Team Design

Objective: Work effectively on designs with team members in real time.

Content & Activities:

  • Sharing designs and setting permissions
  • Commenting and resolving feedback
  • Version history and rollback
 

 

Module 9: Exporting & Optimising Designs

Objective: Export designs in the right formats for different uses.

Content & Activities:

  • Choosing file formats (PNG, JPG, PDF, MP4, GIF)
  • Compression settings for web vs print
  • Transparent backgrounds and crop marks

 


 

Module 10: Capstone Project – Multi-Format Marketing Kit

Objective: Apply all learned skills to create a complete design set for a campaign.

Content & Activities:

  • Integrating brand kit, templates, and multimedia elements
  • Adapting designs for multiple platforms
  • Presenting final design work for feedback 

Participants will receive a Richworks Academy Certificate of Completion for Canva Mastery: From Basics to Pro-Level Design upon successfully completing the session.
